Services from the Tobacco Cessation Center
The Tobacco Cessation Center at Arnot Health provides training, financial and technical assistance to healthcare practitioners, hospitals and healthcare agencies to assist them in implementing Best Practices Clinical Guidelines of the US Department of Health and Human Services for tobacco intervention. This may include, but is not limited to systems to identify tobacco users in the healthcare setting, cost-effective counseling techniques, resources, referrals, tobacco-free environment policies and medical plan coverage. The center offers:

  • Technical assistance to support healthcare institutions, practitioners and healthcare agencies in developing a system to treat tobacco dependence in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Training programs based on the Public Health Service guidelines, which can result in certification as a tobacco cessation specialist.
  • Current tobacco cessation pharmacotherapy education including usage and contraindications.
  • Guidance and resources to develop and implement improved tobacco policies and medical plans.
  • Assistance which will enable you to meet The Joint Commission, IPRO and CDC recommendations.
